Yesterday at my weekly class in the Amsterdam International Community School (AICS), I taught the little students (kids between 4-8 year old non-native speakers) an easy Chinese song.
This is the third class with the group, so they are still know almost nothing about Chinese yet. One of the goals for yesterday’s class is to learn three basic greetings: nǐ hǎo 你好,xiè xiè 谢谢,zài jiàn 再见. It’s a very easy song called nǐ hǎo, xiè xiè, zài jiàn Kids are also asked to add the actions to the song.
- nǐ hǎo 你好 – shake hands
- xiè xiè 谢谢 – clap hands
- zài jiàn 再见 – wave hands
In about 15 minutes, every kid can sing it fluently. Here you can find the audio. The lyrics goes like this:
wò wò shǒu, nǐ hǎo
pāi pāi shǒu, xiè xiè
yáo yáo shǒu, zài jiàn, zài jiàn
wò wò shǒu, nǐ hǎo
pāi pāi shǒu, xiè xiè
yáo yáo shǒu, zài jiàn, zài jiàn
If your kids has just started to learn Chinese, this will be a great and yet simple song to learn. Have fun with it!
