This is a Arabian legend: two friends are in the desert traveling. In the trip, they started to quarrel over a small thing. One of the friends slapped the other friend in the face.
The person been slapped was very angry. (He) walked to the outside of the tent, and wrote down in the sand: “today my good friend gave me a slap in the face.”
They continued to walk ahead, until reaching an area of oasis, (they) stopped to drink water and bath.
By the river side, the person been slapped almost fell into the water. Fortunately his friend saved him.
After been saved up, he took a sword and carved down in a stone: “today my good friend saved my life.”
His friend curiously asked him: “why after I slapped you, you wrote on the sand. But now you carve on a stone?”
He smiled and replied: “when been hurt by a friend, it needs to be written in place that’ll be easily forgotten. The wind will blow it away.
If been helped, we need to engrave it deep in the heart. There, any wind cannot blow it away.”
