她来听我的演唱会 (tā lái tīng wǒ de yǎn chàng huì) is a love song performed by Jacky Cheung, who is one of the most popular & talented Chinese singers and is regard as “歌神 (gē shén, literally God of songs)”. This song was released in 1999.

This song, as the title suggests, tells stories from the perspective of the singer about seeing his fans (粉丝 fěn sī) coming to his concerts (演唱会 yǎn chàng huì) at 4 different occasions.

At 17 years old, the puppy love age, the boy sacrificed half-year savings and managed to buy two concert tickets for their first date. The music was so enchanting and at the same time heart-broken. They were the same songs that were playing three years later when she had to say goodbye to the boy.

Age 25, she came to my concert. The real life started, bright and shinning, until her boyfriend sent roses to another girl behind her back. Getting drunk in the karaoke, singing my songs and crying with the music videos, seemed to be the solution.

Age 33: when true love became rare and precious. The young girl asked her to step out and let the man choose. She came to my concert again. In the enchanting and heart-broken music, she shed tears among the applause.

Age 40: still at the same concert. Her kid asked why there are tears in her eyes. She quietly listens to the music while her man next to her gradually felling asleep.
